What is CU Parking?

CU Parking is a faster way to pay for public parking in Champaign, Urbana, and around the University of Illinois. It helps you start a session, get a receipt, and manage parking from your phone instead of feeding a meter.

Do I need to create an account to pay?

No. You can pay as a guest for a quick one-time session. If you park often, creating an account makes it easier to save your plate, payment method, and recent zones.

How do I know which zone to enter?

Use the zone number posted on the sign, meter, or pay-by-phone sticker where you parked. Before you pay, double-check the zone, your plate, and any posted rules so the session is tied to the right place.

Can I extend my parking session from my phone?

Usually, yes. If the location allows extensions and you have not reached the posted maximum time, you can add more time from your phone without walking back to the meter.

I paid, but I still got a citation. What should I do?

Hang onto your receipt and check the session details first, especially the plate number, zone, and start and end times. Citation questions, disputes, and enforcement decisions are handled by the institution that issued the ticket, not by CU Parking.

Will I get a receipt?

Yes. If you enter your email during checkout, we can send a receipt for your parking session. That receipt is the best thing to keep if you need to confirm when and where you paid.

What if the website is not working or I think I found a bug?

If the issue is with the website or app itself, like a broken page, failed payment screen, incorrect display, or missing receipt, contact CU Parking Support. Include the zone, plate, approximate time, device, and a screenshot if you can.
